An organization called GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) is outraged at the actions of the WWE Chairman on Monday night. Their issue with him is that he used the term "really gay" in a disgusted manner during a segment with Shawn Michaels and Triple H.
The company made the following statements.
Quote:
McMahon here wasn't implying the performers were gay, however, he used the term in a derogatory manner. It's just another example of how people throw around the word "gay" derisively. |
Quote:
This came from the leader of a $500 million-plus organization who holds a lot of power in what he says and what he does. |
Quote:
WWE programming reaches 16 million viewers each week. McMahon needs to understand that the words he uses and how he uses them can greatly affect people's lives. |
WWE has not issued an official statement in response yet, but the company will more than likely issue an apology for public relations reasons.
Rhaka Khan Done With TNAAccording to Rhaka Khan, she's done with TNA.
The former WWE Diva Search contestant was asked about her status with TNA during a recent interview. She stated that the company told her that by filing the PFA (Protection From Abuse), Rhaka was forcing the company to choose between her and Kurt Angle.
The following are the comments that she made about the situation.
Quote:
"I was told that by filing the PFA I was forcing them to choose between the two of us. I knew that when I filed it. I knew there was no way I was probably going to be able to work there anymore." |
As of right now, TNA has not issued an official statement about her release. The company still has her profile up on the official website. Her photo gallery is still online as well.

Is There Room For Batista? When Batista went down with yet another injury, it was a big blow to the company because he was one of the few active main event wrestlers available.
However, there was one "good" thing about the injury. It opened up a spot for another wrestler to gain some more television time (none were elevated to the main event, though).
Now, the former World Heavyweight Champion has healed up and is almost ready to return to the road.
Things on Raw have changed a bit, though, since the 6'5", 290 pound man went down with the injury.
The main event scene might not have enough room for Batista.
In terms of top level babyfaces, Raw might actually have more than they need.
Let's start at the very top with John Cena. WWE had him move down the card for a stretch there to feud with the likes of the Miz and Big Show. Vince McMahon isn't going to take him out of the main event soon this fast.
Then, you have Degeneration X. Shawn Michaels and Triple H are currently working tag team matches, but don't for a second fool yourself into thinking that they're not main event wrestlers still.
Aside from the big three of John Cena, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H, you also have two other guys that are currently trying to break the glass ceiling on Raw.
MVP and Mark Henry are very close to breaking into the main event scene. However, the company has decided to put them together as a tag team (temporarily) because there's just not enough room for them at the top right now.
Throwing Batista back into the mix makes things a bit more complicated.
On paper, the heel side of Raw might not seem too packed. When you factor in some other things, though, you'll find that there's not a lot of room for Batista there either.
Randy Orton stands on top of the heel mountain on Raw. He's such a strong character right now that no other heel has been able to challenge him for his spot.
Many people have forgotten that the Big Show is still on the Raw roster. He's still there, and he's still a part of the main event scene. He's picked up quite a bit of momentum after being paired with Chris Jericho.
Speaking of Chris Jericho, he's officially on the Smackdown roster, but he plays a big part on Raw. He's a guy that you definitely do not want to take television away from because he's the most entertaining wrestler in the business right now.
You also have guys like the Miz, Jack Swagger, and Carlito trying to make their way up. They're more than likely going to be stuck were they are for a while until the roster clears up.
Not a lot of room for Batista on this side either.
Rey Mysterio SuspendedAt Summerslam this past weekend, Rey Mysterio defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship against up and coming star Dolph Ziggler.
Many were interested in the match to see what the company would decide to do. On one side, they have a young guy that needs that title belt to be elevated. On the other side, they have a high popular veteran that wanted a long title reign to remain happy.
Something had to give, and whatever choice the company made would have been quite telling.
At the end of a well performed 12 minute match between the two, it was obvious that the company decided to side with Rey Mysterio and keep the title on the former World Heavyweight Champion.
Well, the armchair bookers that form the internet wrestling community are now pointing out that it was a bad business decision to have chosen Rey Mysterio to go over in that match.
The 34 year old star from San Diego has been suspended for 30 days for violating the WWE Wellness Program.
Per the company's policy, WWE did not reveal which drug it was that Rey Mysterio was caught with. However, everyone can rule out marijuana as the possible drug of choice.
The company does not suspend its wrestlers if they're caught with marijuana in their system. That particular type of violation only results in a small fine.
There's still no word yet on whether the drug was recreational or a performance enhancer.
This strike is going to end up costing Rey Mysterio a lot more than what most fans will realize. Sure, he's going to lose out on the money that he was supposed to make on the road. He might even lose some young fans over this bit of news.
However, the biggest loss for Rey Mysterio is going to come in the negotiations room at the WWE Headquarter.
For months now, the 2006 Royal Rumble winner has been upset about the amount of money that he's being paid by WWE. The belief was that the company might have caved in a bit to ensure that he remains with the company.
With this well publicized drug suspension, Rey Mysterio will have less leverage with the company.
Rey Mysterio is being allowed the opportunity to work until next Wednesday (that's when the suspension is expected to officially start).
The most logical thing for the company to do is to have him drop the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Dolph Ziggler on next week's episode of Smackdown.
However, the company could choose to think outside the box by having him drop the belt and have Dolph Ziggler win a tournament to crown a new champion. Doing that would make it seem less obvious that he only won the belt because Rey Mysterio was suspended.
WWE Signs TrinityWWE has added another diva to their roster.
Trinity McCray has been signed to a developmental contract. The 21 year old is expected to report to Florida Championship Wrestling this week for training. McCray has absolutely no prior training in professional wrestling.
McCray is a former NBA dancer for the Orlando Magic. She follows in the footsteps of Layla El, another former NBA dancer (for the Miami Heat). McCray was once named Dancer of the Year by the American Dance Association.
She also does modeling and singing as well.
Mysterio RespondsRey Mysterio has finally responded to his recent drug suspension.
The former World Heavyweight Champion was interviewed by a Mexican newspaper recently. When asked about his drug suspension, he explained that it was a misunderstanding between WWE and he.
Mysterio stated that he was suspended for a medication that he was taking to heal his arms and knees. The popular masked superstar also stated that he did indeed have a prescription for the medication.
The former WCW and ECW star was instructed by the company to provide proof of the prescription by a certain date. Mysterio explained that he was unable to provide the proof since he was not informed until after he returned from overseas on a promotional tour for WWE. The deadline to show proof was a day after he came back to the United States.
New Jericho ShirtWWE has produced an awesome new Chris Jericho shirt entitled "Jerichohol".
