WWE Smackdown on Friday, February 22 scored a 2.03 rating, jumping to the other side of 2.0. Last week's show scored a 1.96 rating, which was the first Smackdown in six weeks to score below a 2.0.
Smackdown averaged 2.89 million viewers, up eight percent from a 2013 low of 2.68 million viewers last week.
On cable TV Friday night, Smackdown ranked #2 in overall viewers behind "Gold Rush" on Discovery, #6 among males 18-34, and #4 among males 18-49.
Smackdown saw its biggest week-to-week increase in males 18-34, registering a three-week high. Other demos were up two-tenths of a rating compared to last week, but were below the performance from two weeks ago.
Caldwell's Analysis: The Rock raised the Smackdown Boat earlier this year when he returned to Smackdown TV, and the brand appears to be benefiting even in his absence. This week, the solid performance was likely due to Smackdown following the Elimination Chamber. | |
